I am beyond grateful and SO excited for this incredible opportunity! What started as a passion for turning discarded coffee pods into beautiful, wearable art is now making its way onto Big Blue’s shelves!

Get ready for a rainbow of colours, patterns and styles! There will be so much variety that you could almost have a different pair for every day of the month!

Delivery is happening TODAY! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that these little beauties will be in-store by the end of the month, just in time for some truly unique Christmas gift shopping!

Every step has another step… and then another clean-up!

Today I’m poking a hole through 317 coffee pods — one by one — getting them ready for the next stage: assembly!

This part of the process is also my quality-control check. I make sure every pod is clean, neat and up to my standard before it becomes a piece of Lisa Gomez Jewellery.

Cut. Clean. Cut again… and repeat!

The process is everything! Every single pod goes through my hands, step by step, as I transform something that was once destined for the landfill into unique, handmade, green jewellery.

There’s a lot of cutting, cleaning, folding, shaping and love that goes into every piece — and honestly, I truly LOVE what I do!

And the most exciting part? These little babies are getting ready to make their way into South African shops nationwide!

A little behind-the-scenes of my coffee pod earring process!

This video is sped up 6x to show just a small part of the many steps that go into creating each pair of my upcycled coffee pod earrings.

And yes… every single earring gets individually cleaned up by hand, removing any excess resin and making sure each one is just right.

Doing this for 600 earrings after assembly takes A LOT of time — but honestly, it’s so satisfying seeing them come together!

From something that was once destined for landfill… to unique, wearable art.

I absolutely LOVE what I do, and I cannot wait for these little beauties to be available nationwide!

Getting my order ready!

When I first received the order for 600 pairs of handmade coffee pod earrings, the thought of making 1,200 individual earrings by myself was a little daunting!

Because every single pair starts from scratch:
Collecting the used coffee capsules Cleaning each capsule
Sorting them
Cutting each one
Folding and shaping each one by hand
Designing and printing the earring cards
Assembling every pair
Packaging them
And finally, getting them ready for delivery!

It’s a lot of work for one person — but honestly, I love every part of it. ❤️

What makes this order so special to me is knowing that these 1,200 coffee pods were once destined for landfill. Instead, they’re being transformed into unique, handmade pieces of wearable art — and soon they’ll be worn by people who see the beauty in something that most would simply throw away.

That’s what Lisa Gomez Jewellery is all about:
seeing beauty where others might not, and giving something discarded a whole new life.

I absolutely cannot wait for these earrings to become available nationwide in South Africa!

My first HUGE custom order!

I am beyond excited and incredibly grateful to share that I have received an order for 600 pairs of my handmade coffee pod earrings — and they’ll soon be available nationwide in a South African retail chain! 🇿🇦

Having so much fun with these new drop earrings! How gorgeous are these colours?
