Mixed Media: Carnelian gemstones, Nephrite Jade gemstones, Baobab Seeds and Fibrous Strands.

Baobab Roots is a joyful gemstone artwork inspired by the baobab, Africa’s revered “Tree of Life”.

The sturdy trunk and branches are meticulously formed from natural carnelian gemstones, whose warm orange-red tones glow with vitality, passion and creative energy. Crowning the form, lush nephrite jade leaves echo the thriving canopy of the savanna.

Beneath the surface, delicate fibrous strands from the baobab fruit form an intricate root system that resembles umbilical cords, gently linking dried seeds to their source like embryos held in care. These roots speak to nourishment, continuity and beginnings still protected underground. Sand grounds the composition as fertile soil, representing time, patience and the unseen foundations that support growth.

Mixed Media: Nephrite Jade gemstones, Amethyst gemstones, Mica (Muscovite - brown & Lepidolite - purple).

Layers of Stillness is an abstract geode-inspired artwork created to bring calm, balance and quiet happiness into a space. Each shape feels independent yet connected with a sense of ease and flow.

Using gemstones nephrite jade, amethyst and mineral mica (muscovite - brown & lepidolite - purple), the piece feels protective, uplifting and peaceful.

Layers of Stillness is a visual reminder to slow down, feel at ease, and enjoy quiet happiness that stays with you.

After meeting talented students at the Gold Statement, who connected deeply with my work, I was honoured to be invited to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Faculty of Art to view their metal artworks crafted from brass, copper and silver.
