A Rolex Pre-Daytona Chronograph from 1958

Before things became larger, louder, and more recognisable, Rolex made beautiful chronographs like this.

This reference 6234 keeps everything contained within the dial itself — tachymeter, telemeter, registers — giving the watch a very clean and balanced look without the need for an external bezel. Paired with the pump pushers on the side and 36mm Oyster case, it has a far more restrained feel than the Daytona references that followed in the later generations.

This example remains in very good condition overall, with a strong case and a dial that has aged evenly over time. The printing remains crisp, the registers are well preserved, and the overall configuration still feels sharp throughout.

The kind of watch that reminds us how good early Rolex chronographs really were.

A slightly unusual piece.

Made in collaboration with London jeweller Kutchinsky in the 1970s (not 1960s), this is a spectacular Chopard Dual Time reference 5093/1 in 18k white gold.

It’s a watch that feels far more like jewellery than traditional watchmaking. Inside the elongated case are two separate manual movements, allowing each display to be set independently.

At a striking 46mm in length, the proportions are anything but subtle — this is a watch that really sits like a piece of jewellery on the wrist. The dial is what defines it here, a pavé-set field with lacquered subsidiary display, very much in line with the bold design language of Chopard.

With only around twenty examples believed to have been produced, this example is preserved in very strong condition, with crisp engravings and excellent overall definition throughout.

You can’t really explain a watch like this — you just have to see it.

n the world of watches and jewelry we often come across Onyx, a semi-precious gemstone loved for its sleek glossy black appearance. What many do not know however is that Onyx in its natural state is not uniformly black. In raw form the stone appears in somehow translucent tones of black, grey, brown, green and white and traditionally undergoes a dyeing process to achieve the jet-black color we know from Rolex stone dials.

This Rolex Datejust 1601 bears a dial that for the longest time was referred to as an “Obsidian” dial, until and have helped to understand that these were in fact Onyx dials that had likely experienced issues during the dyeing process. Over time the material delaminated, revealing colors from its raw natural composition underneath.

The result is an Onyx dial unlike the conventional glossy black examples we are used to seeing. Much like tropical dials, this dial has completely transformed and developed a fascinating map-like character with black, golden and green hues throughout the surface.

One of the most controversial stone dials and at the same time one of the most unique one.

Piaget doing what it does best…

A unique Piaget Miss Protocole PL0317 from the early 2000s, crafted in 18k white gold with the signature Protocole case — perfectly sculpted, elegantly proportioned, and unmistakable.

The vivid blue enamel work across both the dial and case gives the watch a striking, almost artistic feel, while the diamond setting throughout adds brilliance and contrast in all the right places. Combined with the rectangular case and matching blue strap, it wears beautifully on the wrist.

Presented here in very good condition and comes complete with its original papers.

We love the simplicity of this Cellini 4014 - made in white gold in the early 1970s, the era known for shapes and geometric Cellini cases.

The case has a sharp, architectural feel, balanced by a softer overall presence. The silver dial features a light horizontal texture that shifts slightly in different lighting, with black baton markers and matching hands keeping things clear and minimal.

It’s in very good condition and is an easy watch to wear — suitable for everyday use as well as the evening.

You don’t see pieces like this often — especially in this size, metal, and condition combination.

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 6824 from 1972 is all about quiet presence — 31mm in white gold, understated and completely under the radar.

The boys’ size is great for collectors who like the smaller size and it wears softly on the wrist with a slate-grey dial that shifts between silver and charcoal with the light, subtle but always changing.

The white gold keeps it discreet, while the condition is what really sets it apart — crisp, clean, and incredibly well preserved, almost like it’s been untouched all this time.

When we think we’ve seen it all there is always that one watch that tells us we have just touched the surface - this is the world of Vintage Rolex.

Trying to imagine the day this dial was created – someone at the factory was definitively in the mood to create something different. We hear: ‘I am bored of those plain OP dials – let’s go wild on the dial today’! The result, a breathtaking
engine turned Guilloché dial with a ‘Rose’ motif. Unlike the geometric guilloché patterns typically seen on some rare Day Date dials, this one shows a far more elaborate, almost ornamental design with floral motifs - perhaps the closest thing we’ve seen that looks like this design is grandma’s sofa. When it catches the light, the surface reveals a subtle 3D effect, shifting between silver and anthracite tones, while the absence of a date keeps everything clean and balanced.
Finally we hear someone in the factory again ‘ The dial is incredible but the production is too complicated and I don’t know if anyone will pay for it.’

It feels that this is one of those dials that that never made it to serial production, call it proto or just a tiny production batch – fact is that these were made for Rolex and they are part of their exploration process to create variants for their already established product lines.

This Oyster Perpetual 1002 in stainless steel is the perfect reference for such a dial – crisp lines, smooth bezel, full balance, no distraction – just the full attention to the dial.

Eye of the tiger, cut in stone.

This 1974 Rolex Datejust 1601 Tiger Eye Dial in 18k yellow gold is fitted with a natural tiger eye stone dial - sliced thin from solid stone, so no two are ever the same. On this example it has beautiful brown portions running through it, with the pattern perfectly laid out, keeping the text clean and visible.

Stone dials first appeared on Datejusts before becoming more associated with the Day-Date, and were always produced in small numbers due to their delicate nature. Tiger eye was reserved for yellow gold cases, where the tones naturally matched.

This example is retained in strong proportions and has a sharp fluted bezel, preserved in fantastic condition with a flawless dial - and it comes on the matching Jubilee bracelet. A watch to fall in love with.

An eye-catching early 2000s Cartier Tonneau Dual Time in 18k white gold

This reference 2806H is a piece from the Collection Privée Cartier Paris era, where Cartier revisited its classic Tonneau shape with a more mechanical focus. Instead of a traditional dual time display, it features two separate dials, two crowns, and two independent movements, each adjustable separately.

The design language remains unmistakable — with the curved white gold case that sits comfortably on the wrist, complemented by guilloché dials, blued hands and the signature cabochon on both crowns.

A compelling example in fantastic condition. Watch only.
