The metal changes the mood of light.

A baguette’s long, straight edges and broad step facets make its relationship with metal especially visible.

With white metal, the setting can almost disappear into the diamond, allowing a sequence of baguettes to read as one continuous architectural line.

With warmer metals, the contrast becomes more pronounced, creating a visible outline around the straight edges and bringing greater definition to the baguette’s linear form.

The baguette's geometry is both its strength and its vulnerability. Its sharp 90° corners demand precision in setting, while its open back allows light to travel through the stone and reveal the character of its step-cut facets.

Before it was a diamond cut, it was an architectural movement.

Art Deco was among the first movements to bring the vocabulary of architecture and geometry so distinctly into jewellery. The baguette became a natural expression of that language: linear, disciplined and unapologetically geometric.

A baguette diamond leaves little room for compromise. Its straight edges, sharp corners and precise geometry reveal every decision a designer makes. There are no facets to hide behind, no curves to disguise an imperfection.

What may appear to be a limitation is, in fact, the design brief. It demands discipline, precision and the confidence to create beauty within structure.
