During my training to be a Goldsmith, every cut, every edge, every measurement had to be nothing less than perfect. Later I fought against that concept and consequently created some of my favourite pieces. I create by chance; my pieces happen occasionally through accidents, frequently by trial and error as well as by experimenting and directly working with a material, which inspires me. The pieces sometimes decide themselves what they will become… The imperfections reflect utmost beauty and are completely unique to each piece. They are absorbed and become the most interesting part of the piece. Nothing is perfect in life, and I like that. Imperfections make more of a statement than perfection does. During the creation of a piece, the decision as to which direction I take is often subconscious. I like to see and experience the different stages of development during the creative process. My ideas come from memories, past and present, I let them flow, my pieces tell stories from different times of my life.
