Well today was a good day! I got to immerse myself in the works of one my absolute faves, Alphonse Mucha! Exhibition opened today at Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney. (Even though drenched like a drowned rat from a Sydney downpour, didn't stop me from fan-girling.😍🤩😁😍) Such unbelievable talent.
If you get to Sydney it's worth a visit. Exhibition on til mid September.

I don't know who makes these days up...but apparently yesterday was International day of the Jeweller!!😮😁
So, I thought I'd pay homage to this wonderful man, my Master and mentor, Vik Masinskas. So talented was he, generous with his knowledge, a gentle giant with twinkly eyes and mischievious sense of humour.🙂
Another significant man in my life, gone too soon.
May you rest in peace Vik. 😢💕

Our gift to our youngest treasure. As she has grown from a beautiful baby to an intelligent, elegant young lady so too her baby brooch has been transformed, now sparkling, to carry close to her heart for the next phase in life. 😍💖

In keeping with the theme of the piece, I thought Gingko leaves would be fitting for the escutcheons. I sculpted them and then cast in brass. I think they'll look great as they develop a natural patina over time.

Here is the before and after. A lovely art deco gentleman's wardrobe with book-matched veneers that clearly been gathering dust in an old shed. While it looks ok in the pic, the veneer was cracked and had peeled off on the edges. Some elbow grease to strip, sand and apply the black japan lacquer. Free hand painted.I love how it has come up with the blonde veneer.
