Bagua Lala

Bagua Lala I create rings from my little hands for your pretty yours since 2011. Earrings and wishes cards joined the family in 2016! Accessories joined later too. (Mob')

Buttons and stories are central and I hope they will have the chance to meet you and bring you joy. The story of Bagua Lala, the little gem that blooms nicely on your fingers! Bagua Lala is the Spring of a Miss. Bagua Lala is a little girl's dream. It all starts with these two women bound through time: one rummaging through her mother's sewing box to play with green, blue and pink buttons, buttons

with holes as secret passages to other universes, and the other leaving the man of her life at the time and the ring he had given her. Liberation, strange feeling of nudity of the fi*****ng and desire to assert one's own femininity. Thus, Lala strolling one day at the Braderie in Lille, finds a ring, handmade very pretty, she wears it naturally on her finger and it's there ... that this wave to the soul that becomes a ring to Lala. This day in October 2011 finally sees the birth of the first Bagua Lala and others continue to bloom ever since to dress your pretty fingers. These Bagua Lala are in the image of the Eternal Feminine: frivolous and discreet, precious and natural, elegant and mutinous. They have been yours for nice years now and are constantly sprouting, blooming and becoming bouquets like Lala likes to offer! Lala still hopes to "make pretty rings with her little hands for your pretty fingers", urban, tradi or ethnic rings, bold and chic rings. Welcome to the world of Lala!

🌿🦉 2 weeks to go before...

My so expected return to !!!
Things take time as some say and I fully agree with that. I wish Sue and her team to come back stronger with markets and to make up for all the time when I truly missed this place filled with fellow Artists and enthusiastic visitors.

Things won't be the same, I know but maybe this version will make me rebuild connections and roots to grow back again where I used to.

In the new version, you will find me sharing the space with , her with her love of birds and especially owls at the moment and me with my fascination for buttons.

I am really looking forward to it and I invite you all to come and support, your presence would mean a lot and not only for me 😌

Open your diary and pencil the day and time! 🦉🌿

🙏📷 I would like to say a huge thank you to for the amazing pictures he took of me and my stall earlier this month at and Mother's day celebration's occasion.

It felt special to dress up for an event and I wish I had more chances to do so. See on markets, we need to think about practicality and comfort over it. We carry heavy things, we move a lot and we stand for hours on our feet (including the few hours before you arrive and the few hours after when you leave).

That being said I remember always wearing a dress on the first Twilight markets I was attending. I was doing all the heavy job in comfy clothes and then I would change and put some make up on just before the market was starting. I keep the little ritual of refreshing myself before the markets start, though.

I think this is it, I just haven't been going to night markets for a long time and this time of the day use to be my favourite one, it aligns better with my non early bird personality.

There have been more pictures of my work, myself and other attendees, taken by another talented photographer that I will share with you soon. But for now, THANK YOU legendary Bob! 📷🙏

😌 After an amazing birthday partially (yes partially!) celebrated... it's time for something I don't do often...

HOLIDAYS! Yes, I travel but my type of travels often involves a lot of prep, hours in a plane, a lot of movements and a lot of emotions which often bring me back to reality quite tired mentally.

These holidays result from a burn out that I am not trying to understand anymore (I have been through the resistance phase already) but maybe tame/live better with it a little bit.

I am learning that passion doesn't always come with big personalities and big exclamation but with a little fire inside which can be amazing to feel and sometimes too much to handle. Yes burn out can happen while doing things we love.

Passionate Sadia is INVOLVED and can't do things differently, at least she doesn't know how. So what I am going to do during my holidays to relax? I don't know, things I never do... maybe?

And where did I start today?
I woke up at the time I am usually at work, started with laundry, looked at some of the gifts I have received this weekend, prepared a hot chocolate, looked at the rain, listened to my last rehearsal at the choir (this is me harmonizing, do I like blue notes? maybe 😅)...

Even if some might read that I started my holidays with chores, I kind of see them as a re appropriation of my space and environment and slowing down on remembering what I have received and found for myself... like all the flowers that I don't want yet to die and all these clothes I found in Opshops or given to me that I look into more great details.

All the care for these tangible things seem to make me feel good. Let's see where my holidays will bring me 😌

The last time I was there was in September 2024 and I have been missing it since then... One of the best markets I have been attending is BACK and I am looking forward to be back too!

I am also going to meet again with lots of fellow Artists and Artisans, THIS is priceless 🤗

Can you guess where you will find me next?
Clues: The place is having an exhibition at the moment and is located in a riverside suburb based on the South West of Brisbane.

The very first time I had someone asking me to make a piece of jewellery with a covered button, I wasn't making any...

The second time, I had more experience and understood better how fabric fibers work...

The next times, I ventured myself in asking for leftovers at a workshop where I learn how to fo my own lampshade and I search more for second hand fabric. I was mainly finding it at my workplace. I looked at small leftovers for experimenting, to not open a Pandora box or having too much (I am closer to that now) and also because I like small bespoke collections.

Jaber's collection is a different story. It's the story of a woman who had amazing full pieces of fabric from Kenya to show me. She wanted a collection with the fabric I preferred. It was so hard to choose that she told me I could even pick 2... but how could I make one collection with two different ones?

The collection Jaber you see now is really only one fabric made of all these colours together! This is as if I explored it with a magnifier and deconstructed the whole puzzle to bet on these tiny pieces of Art.

When someone gives me some fabric, they own the collection hense why I used to give them their name or their Mum's name. It was the case for Kasev (Katia+Severine), Biljana (Ana's Mum), Peta (Ellie's Mum). When I pick the fabric myseld, it is called Reverse Collection.

The priority of picking favourites goes to the owner of the fabric and then I pick mine. If the owner is happy for me to keep the rest, then it's open to the world! It is very generous of all the women I have met. I also completely get the feeling of wanting the joy to be shared.

My friend, Catherine, owner of Jaber's collection wanted me to name it this way. I liked that she asked me that and the more she explained me the meaning of it, the more I liked this collection on top of being blown away by its potential!

You can read the meaning of Jaber Day in comment... ok... now you know that Jaber has a night version too, coming one day... 😉

You can find Jaber tomorrow at the event organised by . Please check previous post and my stories for more details.

🙏🙏🙏 Thank you for this great weekend at !

Not only I was happy to be back on markets and quite proud of what I could have ready for this occasion, I felt quite nourished with a lot of insights.

I didn't think I would post today for this reason, to remain marinated in it and maybe just recharge. I also thought maybe I will make just a little story with a picture and add this movie for later this month when I might have more juice... Now that I told you all my secrets, let's go a bit deeper as I can't stop myself thinking about something...

I think it is within us Artists to create, sometimes unconsciously, a place of vulnerability and trust.
That's how our Art could come to life, in this space for us, and it took us a leap of faith to share it with the world. The faith that maybe all of this would makes sense to you too.

I thought I had nothing to do with it and that choosing buttons as a medium was doing this job as they always carry treasured memories of people, clothes and moments we love.

I kind of knew that my brand without me and all my stories wasn't exactly the same but also tried to detach myself from it when I was lending my pieces to Gift shops. It was scary at first then became convenient but my sweet spot is me part of the package 🥰

So I wanted to thank you for stopping by in this amazing space and entering my sweet spot, receiving what I have to give in words, presence, Art and for being generous in return. We were there, for an instant, together, sharing intimate stories and this is Beauty-FULL!

Special thanks to
* Karoline and Ulrike for organising The Churnroom's markets
* and for bringing me there on both days,
* my beautiful neighbours for the company and inspiring chats
, and the guest visit from
