I had a client come to me with her engagement ring, originally set with an opal that had cracked.
(Opals are very soft and not the most ideal stone for everyday wear in an engagement ring.)

We carefully unset the stone, had it cut and polished, but unfortunately it ended up being too small for the setting.

Together, we decided to find a sapphire to fit the original design so it would stand the test of time.

Sapphires are the next hardest stone to a diamond, making them a much more durable choice for everyday wear.

The brief? Soft lilac, pink, or peach tones.
This job was like finding a needle in a haystack, it had to be a very precise size, depth, and colour. Lucky I love a challenge!

After weeks of searching, I finally found two options 🙌
I held my breath as my client looked through the stones, crossing my fingers (and toes) that I had nailed the brief, as we didn’t have any other options available.

Luckily, she absolutely fell in love with this purple-pink sapphire, which fit perfectly 👌

I’m so thrilled with how this turned out, she can now wear her ring every day without worrying about damaging it.

Just delivered this stunning remodel today! It’s based on my double-band signature design, but with a touch of my client’s personality and style.

I love that I’ve created at least 30 of these designs by now, yet each one is completely unique. It’s such a great way to bring life to a collection of random stones.

This particular design was born from all of my client’s pre-loved jewellery. We took everything apart and used the stones to create one cohesive ring that’s low-maintenance (no claws), perfect for everyday wear, and designed so it won’t spin on the finger. The type of ring that stays in the family for generations!

I absolutely loved creating this piece with you, thank you for trusting me every step of the way.
