When people ask why I started Avean Jewellery, the honest answer, like most things in my life is “I didn’t exactly plan it.

IT REALLY STARTED FROM A MOMENT OF PURE FRUSTRATION.

I was standing in front of the mirror trying — and failing — to get a necklace on. As I struggled with that tiny, fiddly clasp, I thought, “Who actually designed these things?”

I knew there had to be something better and that’s when I discovered magnetic clasps but most of the jewellery using them just wasn’t my style.
