Available now at TEMPO PRIMA, An early Credor, dating to September 1979.
Credor was Seiko’s high end watch line, and this 6020-5070 is a great example of the understated Japanese design language of the period.
An exceptionally thin, angular stainless steel case, integrated bracelet and textured silver dial give it a very distinctive late 1970s look. The dial has a subtle repeating texture that changes with the light, while the applied markers and finely finished hands keep the overall design remarkably clean.
This example has been particularly well preserved and remains completely original, including the dial, hands, case, crown, crystal and integrated bracelet.
And perhaps most unusually, it comes as a genuine complete set, original inner and outer boxes, warranty documentation, instruction booklet and even the original sales receipt from 1979.
The original bracelet measures approximately 20cm overall, making this an unusually accommodating example of a vintage integrated-bracelet watch.
A fascinating piece of early Japanese luxury watchmaking, and a reminder that Seiko was producing some remarkably refined watches long before Credor became widely known outside Japan.
