A Special Evening at the Diamond Guild Australia Awards.

What a wonderful evening celebrating the creativity, craftsmanship and remarkable talent within Australia’s jewellery industry.

We are incredibly proud to have been named a finalist in the Red Carpet category at this year’s Diamond Guild Awards with my creation, Akhet.

To see my work recognised alongside such an exceptional group of designers and jewellers is a genuine honour, and one I’m immensely grateful for.

Akhet represents so much of what I love about my craft. The opportunity to transform inspiration into
something extraordinary, bringing together precious materials, thoughtful design and countless hours of meticulous craftsmanship.

Our heartfelt congratulations to Yasunori Konishi on receiving this year’s Red Carpet award. A wonderful achievement and so well deserved.

Congratulations also to all the winners and fellow finalists across every category. The talent, creativity and dedication showcased this evening are a wonderful reminder of just how special our industry is.

The Sakura Ring was designed around the beauty of its Argyle pink diamond.

A radiant cut stone, pink rose in colour, sits at the centre, framed by alternating marquise and round white diamonds in a band that continues the pattern around the finger.

With the Argyle Diamond Mine now closed, having once produced more than 95% of the world’s pink diamonds, this ring is as precious and unique as it is rare.

When I designed Akhet, I wanted the jewellery to do more than simply sit together as a matching suite. I wanted it to transform, and to create a connection between two people.

The pendant can be worn on its long chain, falling down the back as part of her red carpet look. But it can also be removed and secured to the gentleman’s lapel pin, allowing him to wear the centrepiece of the suite while she wears the statement earrings.

I loved the idea that the jewellery could move between them. One moment it belongs to her, the next it becomes part of his look, while still feeling completely connected as one design.

For me, that is what makes Akhet so special. It is not simply a suite of jewellery, but a piece designed around transformation, movement and the idea of being shared.
