#63 Natural Ametrine Quartz For sale

There is some trickery in this gemstones cut.
One may assume light smokey quartz or even ch*****ne topaz..
How does the featured pattern seem to cross and roll with movement?
Magicians don't reveal their tricks, but I will.
The colour is due to orientation of the Ametrine (Quartz that has Amethyst pink/purple as well as Citrine yellow zones in the one piece.) If a small portion of pink is in the culet area of the gem with the remaining mostly yellow, the resulting colour face up will be this gorgeous ch*****ne colour.
The visual effect is due to lack of flat, polished facets on the pavilion. Steps of convex polished facets layered with frosted facets create this illusion.
This extremely rare designed gemstone is now available from my collection.

Well I said I was not going to be cutting Sapphires any longer, tho a good customer asked if I would cut 2x Padparadscha Sapphires.
I grabbed one of my Sapphire finds to do a warm up on as I haven't done one for a while and wanted to be sure my laps are hummin first. They are. Very happy how this one turned out.

Heya everyone 😊

Here I've been gifted a
Double Terminated Smokey Quartz from Mooralla Victoria with an internal moving bubble.
I would like to cut a gem with a bubble however until I start working this stone, due to it's fractures, I can't be sure I will be successful in the finished product.
Is it worth the risk of destroying this
Double Terminated Crystal for the chance that it may become a very nice feature in a cut gemstone?
Would you cut it?
