Banksia louvre earrings. I'm quite fond of this old dirty blue glass. From thick chipped old louvres that have served their time allowing breezes, smoke, mozzies and huntsmans in and out of the asbestos clad homes they once inhabited. Ready to be closed quickly for summer storms and private moments, as long as the mechanism was not too corroded, which it generally was. Banksias outside the louvres reveal more of their form as silhouettes outlined against darkening skies than in the bright light of day. A gentle seabreeze bothers their extremities and they move in that awkward banksia way, mocked by the more graceful she oaks nextdoor.
