Cameos were at the peak of popularity in the mid-late 1800s with the aristocracy on their Grand Tour in Europe, Italy a favoured destination. Carvings were often bought from craftspeople on the side of the road and brought home to be mounted mainly into brooches and pendants. The intricacy of these hand carvings is incredible especially given the fragile nature of shell.

This Art Deco wristwatch was made by Tudor, the sister company of Rolex, and was founded in 1926. The aim was to have more affordable watches than Rolex but maintain the quality. This watch is silver and is fully serviced. DM us for details.
