ijewellery Unique Quirky Eclectic Hand Made Original Solid Silver Hi , my name is Brett Barker . I would love to make something for you too . Clean it. Hand polish it again.

I have made Jewellery for Princes , Presidents , Prime Ministers and Premiers . I do everything by myself .... Designing , Creating and Manufacturing all my own Silver and Gold Jewellery ; which I have been doing for over twenty years. For me making jewellery is like creating a small sculpture . Everything I produce is finished to a very high standard and quality finish / polish . I am from a fami

ly of Artists , Painters , Potters and Stained Glass Artisans ; my Great Grandfather , Grandfather and Uncles are represented in Art gallery's around Australia . I trained in Art Education , teaching in High Schools in Western Australia . I originally worked in the fields of Painting , Pottery and Serigraphy , I then moved into creating jewellery , designing and manufacturing my own unique pieces . I take pride in my original designs and quality workmanship . All the jewellery I produces is created in my workshop in Fremantle using only the purest gold and silver , which I alloy myself . If you want to see how I make my Jewellery , you can watch me on my YouTube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/ijewellery?feature=mhee .... I will be uploading more in the near future . To give you an idea of what I have to do to create a design , here is what I do ....

When I make a new design , I have to draw / design it , then either carve it in wax or cut it out of some silver plate .... this can take days and even weeks to create a design . After this , I have to sand and polish it ; I then make a silicon mould of the design ; placing it in the mould and make an impression in a special machine called a Vulcaniser . I then inject wax into the mould using another amazing machine called a Wax Injector , make up a wax tree , encase the wax in a special heat resistant plaster in a metal vessle , Place this in a Kiln and melt out the wax at 180 degrees , then bring the temp' up to 730 degrees ( over night ) wait around , drop the temp to 530 degrees wait three
hours . Then heat the metal to melting point , put tree vessel in another amazing / expensive machine Vacuum Casting Machine , pour it into the mould. After casting it , break down the investment , blast it off. place this in Acid for an hour . Then tumble this in some steel shot for an hour . Cut off the Sprue , with a Jewellers Saw . Sand the item through three grit stages , solder anything that needs to be attached . Polish it , through two compound stages . Package and Post it. And that is an abridged version ! Thanks for reading .... hope you like my work : )
