🔥🍳☕️ From burns in the kitchen to the campfire, burns are a really common injury but how many of us know how to treat them correctly?

Step 1: Cool under running water for 20 minutes. 
Step 2: Remove hot or wet clothing (unless adhered to skin). 
Step 3: Remove watch, jewellery, rings or tight clothing. 
Step 4: If the victim is pale and feeling unwell, raise their legs to encourage circulation.  
Step 5: For a severe/large burn, call 000. 
Step 6: Apply a non-adherent dressing and combine bandage. 
Step 7: DO NOT apply cream, ointments or ice.

Do you know how to treat a seizure?

Step 1: Protect the victim from injury
Step 2: Stay with the victim, loosen clothing
Step 3: For a child seizure/febrile convulsion place them on a soft surface and check temperature once seizure has finished
Step 4: After the seizure, place the costume in the recovery position
Step 5: Reassure the victim
Step 6: Monitor vital signs regularly
Step 7: Seek medical advice, if unconscious call 000

In Australia, burns and scalds are one of the leading causes of injury in young children, with hot drinks causing a large percentage of serious burns in kids under 5. Knowing how to respond instantly can make a big difference
