Three pieces from our jeweller’s bench over the last six months, each starting from a different brief. A bespoke ring in 18ct white gold, set with an emerald-cut teal sapphire. Depending on the light it leans blue or green, which is a big part of why I love teal sapphires. Coloured gemstones are a lovely way to mark a milestone, because you get to choose a colour that means something to you.

A hinged bangle in solid 18ct yellow gold. Some of the stones came from our own collection and others I sourced especially for this piece: tourmaline, amethyst, spinel, garnet, pink sapphire, diamonds and a Burmese ruby. Each one is set in its own bezel and joined by open strands of gold, so light gets in around every stone.

This dress ring was a bespoke piece we made using a client's own topaz, set into a soft swirl of gold that lets the colour do all the talking. With spring finally here, it felt like the perfect time to share it. What season do you reckon blue topaz suits best?
