KYABRAM TURNS 150 YEARS
143 Allan Street
1926-2026
F C Johnβs in Kyabram was opened in 1926 by William Johnβs as a Jewellery shop.
This was the sister Shop to the Shepparton store in which Frederick Johnβs opened in 1903.
Frederick started F.C Johns in Bendigo in 1892.
Shepparton was then the up-and-coming place, so Frederick Johnβs closed the Bendigo store in 1903 and relocated to Shepparton.
In 1975 F.C Johnβs returned to Bendigo and purchased Killianβs and was renamed F.C Johnβs.
In 1981 they opened in Ballarat and closed that store in 2007.
143 Allan Street was renovated in 1980.
Local Kyabram man Geoff Squires was the manager of the Shop for over 40 years.
After the shop was sold, Geoff went to work at the Shepparton store.
F.C Johns sold the Kyabram store in 1987 as an empty Shop.οΏΌ
In 1988 Vic and Shirley Kuhle brought Kyabram Showcase Jewellers and worked alongside their daughter Sally and son-in-law Greg Tutt.
The store was sold in the year 2000 to Alan and Jan Rye who operated Kyabram Showcase Jewellers for the next 22 years.
In 2022 Alan and Karen Gascoyne purchased this store and has currently renamed it Kyabram Jewellers.
