【Introduction Performance No.1 – Ikebana, Harumi Hayakawa 】

Our first featured performance is Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) by Harumi from Kirei Japanese Studies.

⏰ Time of performance: 11:30AM

🌸 About Ikebana
Ikebana is the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement. Rather than simply arranging flowers beautifully, Ikebana focuses on harmony, balance, and appreciating the natural beauty of each branch, leaf, and flower.

Harumi from Kirei Japanese Studies says Kirei” means beautiful in Japanese.
Through teaching Japanese language and culture, I explore Japanese aesthetics and philosophy with my students.

I feel privileged to demonstrate Ikebana at this wonderful festival. Using just a few seasonal flowers I’d like to create a space where each flower can breathe and shine — celebrating diversity and harmony in a small container.

I’d love to see you all there!
