BEST OF THE WEEK - I had hoped my best of the week would have been enjoying 5 days in the studio after the school holidays but alas one of the kids was home sick for 2 days.

Then I had high hopes that the butter chicken I had planned for dinner would be AMAZING but alas I f****d it up and it was a watery, gluggy rice mess. My nacho bake last night was the best one I've ever made though.

So my best of the week is the surprise visit today from my beautiful, funny niece Asha. The pickle ball games we played were fun and sitting outside chatting in the sun was so nice.

Looking forward to the week ahead where my kids WILL be at school for 5 days this week. 🤞

PURCHASE WITH PURPOSE - I started this initiative in 2020 to give purpose to my work. No one ever really needs new earrings, but if your going to treat yourself at least you can feel good, knowing you are helping to support an environmental or humanitarian cause.

Donations for the 1st quarter of the financial year have been made.

🤑 Imagine my surprise when I added up all the running totals and discovered that I have donated over $10,000 since starting this initiative in 2020. Small amounts really do add up & can make a difference.

I JINXED IT - after a bad run of sick kids & student free days in term 3 (out of 10 weeks I only had 2 full 5 day weeks in the studio) I told the kids there would be no days off for anyone this term!

Life laughed at me 🤣 I was picking up one of the kids from sick bay at 9.15am today with swollen, itchy eyes. Plus I've been struck down with a cold too.

At least I managed to get 2 wholesale orders made and posted yesterday.

Fun times ✌️

BEST OF THE WEEK - we played tourists in our own town of Melbourne this week.

We hadn't done anything fun together as a family for a while so we splurged on 2 nights in the city, & enjoyed all the things that Melbourne has to offer.

Thanks to the staff at Meriton Suites Melbourne for an amazing stay - the view from the 54th floor was incredible (photos don't do it justice)

The dinner we had La Cucina Melbourne was perfect. It felt so good to not have to cook or prepare food for 2 days.

Melbourne really is such a wonderful city, full of beautiful gardens, buildings & amazing food. We feel so lucky to live here.

BEST OF THE WEEK - we played tourists in our home town of Melbourne this week.

We hadn't done anything fun together as a family for a while so we splurged on 2 nights in the city, & enjoyed all the things that Melbourne has to offer.

A MURDER OF CROWS - a project made for fun and to enjoy the process of taking an idea and making it come to life.

A few years ago I made a series of brooches of the animal collective A Cloud of Numbats & since then I have wanted to explore another animal collective. This piece is based on a group of Crows being called a murder.

NUMBER 35 City Circle is an iconic tram in Melbourne. Its a zero-fare tram that operates in the C*D, passing many attractions.

We jumped on the tram after our river cruise so we could see the sights from a different perspective.

It creaks and groans its way along the tracks but it has so much character from the window fixtures and antique brass fittings to the lighting.

I'll be reprinting this brooch design as I took a better photo than previously.
