Johnny Ninos individually cuts each stone in his Rough Luxe collection in his own studio, creating absolutely one of a kind rings.

This incredible rhodolite garnet has asymmetrical facets and areas deliberately left unpolished, allowing the stone’s natural character to shine through. We love the way its rich colour catches the light from every angle.

Set in one of Johnny’s signature organic, ocean inspired bands in 18ct yellow gold, with three little white diamonds tucked into the sides. Beautiful details to discover as you turn it in your hand.

The Kiss Me pendant by New York based Anthony Lent is a little sculpture in solid 18ct yellow gold. Beautifully modelled lips emerge from a golden disc, with a softness and depth that make you want to look closer.

Playful, a little sensual and so beautifully made. We love the idea of something this special becoming part of your everyday.

Dark silver, glowing gold and the loveliest movement. Three beautiful pairs of earrings by Robin Wells Contemporary Jeweller, newly arrived at Studio Melt.

Robin draws inspiration from the Australian native plants in her garden, translating their leaves and seed pods into finely embossed detail. Rich 24ct gold is fused to the oxidised silver using the traditional Korean technique of keum-boo, creating that beautiful contrast of black and gold.

Each pair moves so elegantly, catching the light as it turns. We’ve tried to capture a little of that here, along with the details that make them so special.

Three beautiful rings recently arrived from Rusty Thought, handmade in Japan from solid 10ct yellow gold, textured oxidised silver and diamonds.

Is it the lovely stamped detail on the face of each ring? The scalloping around the bezel? Or the combination of these three materials that works so beautifully?

I’m not sure, but I love them.

Back in stock! These would have to be two of our favourite pairs of Todd Pownell earrings.

Todd’s signature? That killer combination of solid gold, matte black and white diamonds. Big on drama, with plenty of versatility. Then there are his inverted diamonds. Take a closer look and you’ll often find the stones set upside down for a little extra spice.

His Irregular Circle earrings pair simple black frames with solid gold elements and bezel-set diamonds nestled along the circle for that little bit extra.

The Concave Rectangle earrings have a gently curved black surface, with a meandering line of inverted diamonds set into a channel. We especially love the clever hook that locks securely into place behind the ear. It’s all in the details.

Work currently in stock by Todd Pownell, who is the absolute master of mixing brilliant white diamonds, high carat gold and black in the most dramatic ways.

I love these hoops at the beginning. Hammer-finished 18ct yellow gold, with two diamonds set into darkened white gold prongs.

If you love a bit of detail, wait until the end of the video to see these hoops from the side. You’ll catch a glimpse of how Todd has set one diamond in each charm upside down. These little diamond charms are removable too. Just slip them up and over the hoop if you feel like a simple gold hoop for the day.

Three astonishing rings by Atelier Narce - Atelier Narce. Each one tells a story through the smallest details.

‘You Are Here’ places an arrow of baguette diamonds on an anatomical heart of solid gold.

‘Diamond Tears’ sees rose-cut diamonds cascade gently down a gold face.

‘Fragmented Sybil’ wears a scattering of sapphires across her face, with one tiny sapphire resting on her earlobe.

Working from his studio in New York State, the maker behind Atelier Narce creates the most wonderfully poetic, one-of-a-kind pieces. His imagination keeps surprising us, and we’re always delighted to have his work among the pieces we’ve chosen for Studio Melt.

Some jewellery feels like it already has a story. Our latest arrivals from have that feeling, with rustic textures, moody grey diamonds and a beautiful vintage sensibility.

Behind the Japanese brand are husband and wife team Ryo and Yuko Katori, based near Tokyo. Combining traditional techniques with antique influences, they create jewellery to be worn and loved, gaining character with time and eventually passed on.

There’s plenty of drama here, and lovely little details that deserve a closer look.

Robin Wells is a contemporary jeweller living and working in Perth WA. Robin finds constant inspiration in the unique foliage and flowers of the native plants surrounding her Perth studio, which looks out onto a garden planted with endangered endemic species.
