The magic is in the proportions. Trilogy rings are deceptively difficult to get right. The side stones can’t be chosen from a chart or weight. Every centre stone carries weight, depth and personality differently.

You need to trust the eye.

She danced around the showroom after putting it on with a reaction we’ll never forget!!!

Years before my training, I purchased this Spessartite from an international seller on WhatsApp. They were suitably underwhelming!

But these stones turned into the perfect side by side to show what separates an average gemstone from an exceptional one. The difference is everything.

This piece of rough started at 18 carats. By the time cutting is complete, the finished stone will weigh less than 10.

Because in high jewellery cutting, size is never the priority, performance is.

Weight is sacrificed to remove extinction, improve symmetry, maximise brilliance and unlock colour.

A smaller, spectacular stone will always win over a larger flawed one.
