An emerald cut aquamarine set in platinum, with flowing curves inspired by the ocean.

Aquamarine is a softer stone, so I was a little hesitant to take on this piece at first. A semi bezel was a good solution to help protect the edges of the stone while keeping the design open.

There are so many shades of blue, but there's something about the different hues of aquamarine that I find hard to resist. 💙

Sourcing a sapphire is nothing like sourcing a diamond. A diamond you can order to a specification and know almost exactly what will turn up, but a sapphire parcel is like a box of chocolates, and the art of it is balancing size, colour and budget until they meet in the one right stone. That takes patience and a lot of back and forth, but when it comes together the result usually speaks for itself. 💚

There were two designs to choose from, and only he knew which one would end up on her finger. ❤️

This custom engagement ring was made with a square cushion cut GIA certified diamond, set in a cathedral style with petal shaped prongs. The details only she would ever notice up close: a hidden garnet (his birthstone) underneath the setting and the anniversary date engraved next to it.
