I’m just going for a look…. 👀

Famous last words. 😂

One minute you’re innocently grabbing a cuppa ☕️ and an old fashioned biscuit…. 🍪
Then suddenly you’ve got earrings, a new dress, something for the grandkids, another plant, a candle (it was the new scent 😉), a sugar bowl to replace the one you broke and possibly a cute little Xmas gnome or two!

But honestly, who can blame you?

With an incredible selection of delicious treats, clothing, jewellery, toys, candles, artwork, soaps and plenty more, there’s a chance that you’ll find something you didn’t know you needed 😉

Let’s not forget the air conditioned venue, fabulous live music and the wonderful stallholders who give you all the attention you deserve 🥰 you don’t get that in the crowded shopping centre!

The only problem?

We have only 3 markets left this year! 😱

When you’ve just had 2 weeks of school holidays and you still need ONE more day!

Thank goodness for the King’s Birthday holiday 👑

Now the big question is….. Can I fit in all the things that I was meant to do in the last 2 weeks into the next 24 hours! 😂

At least I know my “supervisors” are happy with me home for one more day 😝

Who else is guilty of cramming ALL the things in the day before work and school go back? 🙋‍♀️

I have a feeling we’d get along…….

If you love bringing joy to those around you by….

💕 wearing colour whenever and wherever you can
💕 believing gorgeous jewellery should be worn often and not just saved for someday
💕 Saturday mornings are for relaxing with friends, laughter and good food
💕 a cat (or 2) on your lap is a legitimate excuse to not clean the bathroom….. again!
💕 buying handmade gifts because you love telling the story behind them
💕 opening little packages to see what beautiful treasures might be waiting inside

Then yes, I think we could be friends 😃

I’m an optimist and I believe that the little things in life need to be enjoyed.

Wear the special pearls. Buy handmade gifts because you love the story. Say yes to breakfast with friends as often as you can. And keep those little packages coming if they make you smile.

Because life is short, and special occasions don’t happen nearly enough.

❤️ A grandmother’s pearls. 💍 A daughter’s wedding.
🥰 A story continued.

I do lots of restringing of pearls. Most of the time, it’s a necklace or bracelet that someone loves, has broken and simply wants to be able to wear again.

BUT….. sometimes there’s a beautiful story behind it.

These gorgeous graduated Mikimoto Pearls are at least 50 years old, if not a little more. They were brought back from Japan from a devoted husband as a gift for his wife and they were clearly treasured, still tucked away in their original Mikimoto velvet jewellery case.

Sadly, the original owner has now passed away. But I feel incredibly privileged that my job was to restore these beautiful pearls so her daughter-in-law could wear them in her daughter’s upcoming wedding.

When I get to be a part of else’s jewellery story, it bring me such joy. I feel truly blessed to be able to help preserve a treasured heirloom and restore a beautiful piece of jewellery history for another generation.

And not only did I get to be part of this beautiful story, I was able to restring a vintage Mikimoto pearl necklace! ✨
If you’re wondering why I’m so excited about that, Mikimoto pearls have a fabulous history. Kokichi Mikimoto, known as the Pearl King, is the creator of the world’s first cultured pearls in 1893! A revolutionary idea that changed the pearl industry and went on to influence jewellery for more than a century.

Some jewellery is beautiful.

Some jewellery carries a story.

And sometimes, you get the privilege of helping that story continue. ❤️

💕8 Reasons why I love creating jewellery 💕

In the handmade world, why we create is important. It shows the love we have for what we do and how that is important for us.
And we all do it for a variety of reasons and I’m sure these 8 are not my only ones but they were the ones that came first to mind.

I know lots of us do a little bit of creativity whether it’s with food, craft, sewing, music but whatever you do, enjoy it as much as possible because without it our lives would not be as rich.

I’d love to hear what you do and why but also what reason of mine made you nod and go “yes that’s me too”. It’s always wonderful to share creative talents and joy, we need more of that in our lives 🥰❤️

🥰 Better ways to store your jewellery 🥰

Storing jewellery should be easy to do, look great and doesn’t need to include dust!

I loved my old system BUT as I get older I don’t want to clean any more than I have to. 😂 Luckily I have lots of amazing suppliers and I found this little bit of gorgeousness. ❤️

So over the weekend I went to Brisbane to help my sister Lesley from at the Liberty Showcase at the Convention Centre. It was a huge event celebrating 150 years of

Now those of you who aren’t fabric addicts, Liberty of London is a British fabric brand that has the most gorgeous fabrics: Tana Lawn cotton, silk, quilting fabric and they even do collaborations with brands like Adidas! The Tana Lawn cotton is a fave with beautiful floral prints in the softest fabric, it’s like silk but without the dramas. Machine washable and easy to care for and it even has inspired fabrics from the Netflix season of Bridgerton ❤️

Now my talented sister never really does ready mades , most of her work is custom one off design pieces but as she was invited to do this event she decided to showcase some of Liberty’s devine fabrics in her incredible hand smocked and embroidered outfits.
They are limited editions so they won’t last long. Most are sizes 2 and below but if you want something special you might want to join her waitlist.
