32 years. Two generations. One family business.
When Lyn and Craig Blizzard took a chance and opened Blizzards Fine Jewellers 32 years ago, Kara was just four years old.
They were raising three young children, building a business from the ground up and putting everything they had into making it work.
Never did they expect their little girl, who grew up spending time in the shop and eventually started out cleaning the windows, would one day be sitting beside them as the next generation of Blizzards.
There was never any pressure to join the family business. Kara found her own way back and somewhere along the journey discovered that her childhood love of art and creativity had found its place in jewellery design.
Today, Craig’s incredible knowledge of diamonds and traditional hand-drawn design sits alongside Kara’s CAD and modern design techniques, while Lyn remains the kind, caring heart of the business she has been from the very beginning.
Different generations. Different strengths. The same values.
Kindness. Honesty. Quality. And genuinely caring about the people who walk through our doors.
Perhaps what we’re most proud of after 32 years isn’t simply that Blizzards is still here.
It’s that so many of you have been here with us.
You’ve trusted us with engagements, weddings, anniversaries, new babies, treasured family jewellery and pieces filled with memories. Many of you have gone from clients to lifelong friends and some families have now trusted us across generations.
Our staff are the same sharing the same morals as us.
We don’t take that for granted.
We’re incredibly proud of what Lyn and Craig created all those years ago, and equally excited about what’s next.
The world of jewellery will keep changing, and we’ll keep changing with it.
But the heart of Blizzards will always remain the same.
Family owned. Family run. And incredibly grateful to still be doing what we love, 32 years later. 🤍
