Why I love Freya the Norse Goddess -
and you should too

She’s one of the most complex goddesses in any mythology — both nurturing and fierce and the ultimate female archetype — earthy, mystical, sensual, and powerful.

She’s not passive like many classical goddesses: she chooses lovers, rides into battle, practices magic and claims her own authority.

Riding over the battlefield in her chariot she chooses half of the fallen warriors, welcoming them into the realm of Valhalla, whilst the Valkyries ( warrior maidens on winged horses ) carry them there.

On my Adventure List……
The main Norse heritage festival is Up Helly Aa fire festival and takes place late January in Shetland, featuring a massive torchlit procession and the burning of a Viking galley.
I’ve watched it live streamed from afar and the vibe is magic and powerful.

🌊 The Lunar “Seas” (Maria)

These dark plains were once thought to be oceans — their names are especially poetic:

* 🌊 Mare Tranquillitatis — Sea of Tranquility (where Apollo 11 landed)
* 🌧 Mare Imbrium — Sea of Rains
* 🌙 Mare Serenitatis — Sea of Serenity
* 🌫 Mare Vaporum — Sea of Vapors
* 🌊 Oceanus Procellarum — Ocean of Storms
* 🌤 Mare Fecunditatis — Sea of Fertility
* 🌙 Mare Nectaris — Sea of Nectar
* 🌑 Mare Crisium — Sea of Crises

These names feel almost mystical — like emotional landscapes rather than geography.

🏔 Lunar Mountains

Even the mountains have poetic names:

* ⛰ Montes Apenninus — like Earth’s Apennines
* 🏔 Montes Alpes
* ❄️ Montes Caucasus

These ranges cast long shadows at sunrise — incredibly dramatic.

🌑 Beautifully Named Craters

Many craters are named after thinkers, but some feel poetic in tone:

* 🌙 Plato crater — mysterious and dark

Dropping soon : our very beautiful Labradorite Runes : a mineral renowned for iridescent optical effects, displaying vibrant flashes of blue, green, gold, and violet.
Speaking from my heart, this year so far has been filled wild dreams, possibilities and positivity…but then wobbly moments of self doubt.
I thought I grow into strong vibes the older I got , but not so.
Little by little yes, but we still have those patterns that were sowed years ago.
I’m softening. Leaning into what the universe is trying to tell/ teach me.
It’s been an eye opening, beautiful ride.

You may feel restricted and powerless, but these are things that you’ve imposed on yourself.
You may have to face a difficult decision, but you must release those constraints before doing so.
Be honest with yourself….

The universe never fails to send me a nudge, what I need to hear.
Along with the Chinese New Year FireHorse vibe, new growth is on its way but we need a strong foundation to build upon.
Get rid of dead wood, circumstances that don’t serve well or have your best interests at heart.
It may be hard at the time but you won’t look back.
