It's lilac, somewhere between dusk and sea, the kind of stone you have to see in different light to understand. Threaded by hand on silk, interrupted by a single freshwater pearl, finished with a sterling silver clasp.

When her first son was born, she didn't want a gift she'd put in a drawer.
She wanted something that would still be on her hand the day she had children of her own.
So we made her this, an Australian blue sapphire in 9ct yellow gold, set in an organic band carved by hand.

He just turned one a few weeks ago. The ring is exactly where it belongs — on her hand, around him.
