Some evenings stay with you long after they’re over.

It was a pleasure to support School for Life Foundation at their Gala Ball last month, helping raise funds to create brighter futures for children in Uganda.

The evening raised a remarkable $6.2 million, a testament to the generosity of everyone involved and the life-changing work of the School for Life team.

Three years into our partnership, I continue to be inspired by what Annabelle Chauncy OAM and her team achieve. Their passion, dedication and impact are extraordinary, and I’m grateful to contribute in a small way.

This year, we designed, handcrafted and donated a 3.81ct rubellite tourmaline and diamond ring, which was raffled on the night. Knowing something created in our Woollahra workshop could help support such an important cause is deeply rewarding.

Thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets, donated and supported the event, and to our wonderful clients who joined me for the evening.

Already looking forward to next year.

From the raw materials to the final design.

We handcrafted this engagement ring at the Matthew Ely Jewellery Workshop with a 1.5ct oval-cut diamond and two smaller pear-shaped diamonds.

There are so many options but it really all comes down to individual preference - the gemstone, the metal, the style, the cut.

For the past three years, it has been incredibly special to support and the life-changing work they do for children and rural communities in Uganda.

This year, I was honoured to handcraft and donate this 18ct white gold, 3.81ct rubellite tourmaline and diamond ring for the annual School for Life Gala Ball raffle.

From the first sketch and design consultation with the remarkable through to the final handcrafted details, this piece is one of a kind.

If “fashion is art” then jewellery is the masterpiece… but I may be a little biased. 🤷‍♂️

Forever inspired by the Met Gala theme and magic.

Here’s one for the men.

I designed this Western-inspired sapphire bolo necktie to showcase a 2.93ct unheated purple sapphire. The colour was VERY important to our special client (but more to come on that soon…)

The piece is layered with hand-applied enamel and has a unique fine engraving.

There’s also a lot going on behind the scenes! It had to function perfectly but still feel effortless; a wearable piece of art.
