The piece has changed again.
After speaking with Brenda Coleman, a fellow jeweller Brenda Coleman we decided that the way I was going to attach the necklace wasn’t going to work if you wanted to wear it in reverse.
Still lots to do but when it’s finished it will be available North Shore Craft Group July exhibition in a few weeks.

The septarian necklace is coming along but still has a long way to go.
I’ve never been able to work quickly. I always have to reflect and be open to changes, so most of my finished pieces look nothing like my original designs.
I’m thinking I might have to do something different with the bezel, not sure what.

This pair of sterling silver earrings has the top half embossed and the bottom half is acid etched. I love the visual depth you can achieve using these techniques, especially when the silver is blackened by oxidizing with very smelly liver of sulphur (which smells like it came from the bowels of hell).

I finally finished something after a very long dry spell.
Sometimes I can’t find the oomph it takes to get into the studio and be creative. I used to worry about it, but now I’m comfortable with the periods of quiet because I know I’ll eventually get back into the rhythm of making.
I have a few more pieces that I’m now itching to finish, so it all comes good eventually.
