Shona came to me wanting to turn her old rings into something that was finally for HER.

Not for the kids.
Not for everyone else.
Not another thing she’d put off because everyone else came first.

Just hers. ✨

And honestly… how often do we mums — especially the ones who spend their whole lives caring for everyone else — actually do that without guilt?

Shona’s still working bloody hard in healthcare, still looking after everyone.
So this ring needed presence. Strength. Something that suited HER.

Together we created

“Mama Star and Her Children”.

The centre star is Shona.
Strong. Solid. Unmissable.

Her children are represented in their birthstone colours — some here beside her, some held forever in spirit — and the diamonds are the grandies. There’s even a tiny white diamond near her son Michael’s green diamond for his son Kase, born sleeping. ❤️

When we discussed the design I told her straight… “this ain’t going to be cheap” 😂

Without missing a beat Shona said “f**k it… I’ve worked all my life and I deserve it.”

I joked she may need to sell a kidney ( or 2 ) and in typical Shona fashion she fired back… “Can’t do that Deb, need it for cocktails, wine and gin!” 🍸😆

Safe to say the two of us hit it off immediately. I don’t do pretension and neither does she…

And seeing this beauty sitting proudly on her finger exactly where it belong- well, that’s just bloody brilliant.

She's finally set...
After sitting on my bench FOREVER, this huge Aquamarine has been set!
Aqua this large is rare- and in certain lights this beauty shows Chatoyancy, a fancy pants word I cannot spell, let alone pronounce, that means...
As you tilt the gemstone under a light source, the concentrated, silky band of light glides across the surface, mimicking a blinking or moving cat's eye.

And before some may say " Geezus," that's expensive- Well...It's not only gold that has risen the past year, but silver prices have also TRIPLED!!! Nuts, really, because silver has always been affordable- it still is. But not like before. I nearly fell off my nurse when I bought some chain for a necklace recently.

This would suit a larger wrist- it's generous

Still flogging the sale… and yep, somehow these beauties are STILL here. Honestly, unless you’ve been living under a rock — which, given the housing crisis, might actually be a viable option these days 😅

But seriously… I genuinely cannot believe these three haven’t sold at UNDER half price. No joke.

And I’ll blow my own trumpet a bit here — my jewellery is nothing like most mass-produced stuff out there. My long-time regulars know the difference and will absolutely vouch for that.

Maybe it’s because I take my own photos 😆 White stones are an absolute nightmare to photograph properly with all the reflections and sparkle bouncing everywhere… but trust me when I say these three are GORGEOUS in real life.
