At 61 I’m now at the age where I really don’t give a s**t about attracting the male eye 😂

I dress for myself. For what feels comfortable. I love texture, shapes, flow and clothes that have a bit of personality. I’m obsessed with Mexican and Japanese designers for exactly that reason.

And just because you’re 61 doesn’t mean you have to start quitting fashion and wearing clothes that make you feel like a sack of poo 😂

I don’t give a f**k about body con anymore. I don’t need to show my waist or dress to make myself look “sexy”. I want to put something on and think f**k, I love this.

And today two young Asian guys actually stopped me and told me how cool I looked.

Which I loved 😂 They were both incredibly well dressed themselves, so I took that compliment very seriously.

So yeah… 61 and still having fun with clothes.

Dress for yourself. Wear what makes you happy. Don’t start dressing like an old lady just because someone thinks you should. ❤️

Most of you know I’ve now fully retired- the workshop is no more; the tools are gone, sold or packed up.

Thank you all so much for your kind words. ❤️ It’s overwhelming trying to respond to them all! ( especially after drinking WAY too much Mezcal in Puebla Mexico, and the huge time difference)

When I mentioned “the haters,” I wasn’t talking about everyone, or even most people. The truth is, the overwhelming majority of people I’ve met over the last 30 years have been incredibly kind, supportive, and generous.

What I was referring to is something many creatives and small business owners experience. There seems to be an invisible line where people are happy to see you succeed… just not too much. The moment you celebrate your achievements, or your work is recognised, it can sometimes be mistaken for arrogance rather than pride in years of hard work.

Perhaps it’s a little bit of Tall Poppy Syndrome. Perhaps it’s simply that we’re often more comfortable celebrating other people than ourselves.

I’m proud of what Dean and I have built together. Not because I think we’re better than anyone else, but because I know the sacrifices, the failures, the 70-hour weeks, the financial risks, and the decades of persistence that no one else sees.

So this article wasn’t about saying, “Look how wonderful I am.” It was about taking a moment to acknowledge a journey I’m incredibly grateful for.

And judging by all your beautiful comments, I’m reminded that there are far more kind people than unkind ones.

For that, I’m truly thankful. ❤️

Happy 79th Birthday to our amazing Carol! 🎉❤️

Carol is living proof that age is just a number. She travels the world solo, embraces every adventure with a smile, and somehow manages to pack lighter than anyone else on the tour! We all need lessons from her. ✈️🎒

Nothing seems to faze her. She takes everything in her stride, is always up for the next experience, and reminds us that life is meant to be lived, not watched from the sidelines.

Here’s to many more adventures, new stamps in your passport, and inspiring everyone around you.

Be like Carol… grow older, stay curious, keep travelling, and never lose your sense of fun. ❤️🌎🥂
