As the days continue to darken, and the Winter Solstice draws ever nearer, I find myself thinking often about the fact it's almost been a year since I closed down Hex Arcana, and thinking about where I'd hoped I'd be at this time, this year.

And all I can really say at the moment is that I'm just not ready to be opening up a new business yet, due to some ongoing personal circumstances that will have the full grasp of my attention for a little while longer. I'm frustrated, but also seeing this as an opportunity to practice the art of patience (what even is that?), and making sure I get all my ducks in a row before plowing full steam ahead like I have always done, often to my detriment. Sometimes things align when you want them to, and sometimes you just have to put your big girl pants on and wade through the muck a little longer to get to where your going.

I deeply miss pouring my heart and soul into jewels for you all, but alas, I'm am still kicking, still plotting, and still creating and pottering about in my studio when the time aligns.

Hey folk! Long time, no post from what was once upon a time Hex Arcana Jewellery.

This Virgo New Moon has been an intense one, and I've felt the need to do much cleaning out, and in the readings I've been giving myself this last week, all cards keep pointing to new beginnings, so I'm listening.

I originally started a new page for Chthonic Realms, but honestly, with how bad things are with algorithms these days, the idea of starting from scratch felt so daunting, especially after all the hard work I've put in over the years. I also didn't want to completely abandon everything to do with Hex Arcana. I have grown and evolved so much since that business first began, and I wanted to continue to honour my roots as I'm proud of my past, and want it to continue to inform my future. So I decided to just keep the same page running, and instead change the name...and hopefully confuse everyone a whole lot less.

In other news, I am still at school full time, and will be until the end of the year, and I guess it's finally time to start talking about that. I went back to school this year to study Counselling, which has been as exciting as it has been challenging. As some may know I've spent time working in Mental Health/Disability, and I wanted to upgrade my skills and navigate towards a path that could also integrate my creative qualifications, as well as other passions and life/work experience I have. I feel I am very much on the right path, and I can't wait to see how this journey pans out, but for now assignments are my life, and jewellery will continue to take a back-seat.

I have been dreaming of finding a copy of this book for almost two years, and last weekend I finally stumbled upon a copy in a second hand bookstore by chance while reaching for a completely different book!

In this period of transition between two realms, I am very much focused on the building of something new, and books have been my best friend for this. I'm enjoying spending as much time with my nose buried deep in books as I am being out in nature every chance I get, seeking inspiration from both for new offerings when the time is right.
