Cathérine Hostekint is a jewellery designer based in Ghent, Belgium. She studied Art history and gradually entered the world of jewellery after a training in jewellery design in Central Saint Martins in London and a education with a silversmith craftsman. Her references come from her passion for art history, mythology, music and contemporary art. For example, artists like Cy Twombly and Claudio P

armigianni inspire her deeply, as well as Minimalist movements or the architecture and design she discovers while travelling. Cathérine strongly values craftsmanship in order to create a range of modern jewellery, that transcend seasons and trends. The handmade process of every product results in a unique and one of a kind piece. She especially creates het jewellery for the aesthetic, thoughtful and independent wearer.

4 vedute - Ruins

When I started my university studies my plan was to become an archeologist. But to me the Flemish archeology seemed less spectacular than I imagined and I didn’t like the way it was teached, so I made the switch to art history. Even though archeology always stayed my big love and a source of inspiration to my work.

The ring “4 vedute- Ruins” refers to the vintage souvenir fold out guides with photo series of iconic sights I used to collect.
The ring is square and represents on each side a view of a ruin.

It’s pisces season, it’s my season!
It is told that pisces was born from a tear of Neptune, falling into the endless ocean of dreams. Those born under pisces drift between worlds, seeking love that is fluid, poetic, and as boundless as the sea itself.

So here I am, with a new necklace, once again inspired by the seaworld.
The necklace is as always handcarved by me and casted into silver. It represents two dancing seahorses with their tales entangled ending in a blue topaz.
Did you know that seahorses do this lovedance every morning ? ❤️
