Check out what Calgary’s emerging artists have created at the annual Show + Sale, presented by the Alberta University of the Arts Students’ Association. This unique public art market invites you to view and purchase over 1,000 pieces of handmade student art. Whatever your preferred medium, you’ll find it here: paintings, photographs, drawings, prints, ceramics, glass, fibre, jewellery, sculpture and more!

🦕 🎨 Hey AUArts Alumni! 🎨🦖

✨⭐️ This is AUArts 100 year anniversary and Show + Sales 35th Anniversary, to celebrate we are inviting alumni to participate in our 35th Annual Show + Sale Winter Market. ⭐️✨

Whether you participated in Show + Sale when you attended the university or are new to the program, everyone is welcome to apply as long as you are an alumni.

Your application must include 3-5 images of works you would sell and an artist bio, we have limited support staff this year so there is a shorter window of application time. Once accepted, you will receive a program packet (alumni edition) to fill out your inventory, and make sure your pieces are ready for the sale.

Since you will not have to participate in the full program we take an alumni discount of only 15% commission on your sales instead of the usual 25%. We also will encourage you to participate in an alumni mixer and attendance to the market days. Become more engaged with your art community, make some money off your artwork, and meet the emerging artists of the future!

🌟 Are you a Current Student enrolled at AUArts? Are you interested in learning how to prepare your artwork and sell it at an emerging artist's winter market? Great! Appy to Show + Sales 35th anniversary winter art market program!🌟

The Show+Sale winter art market program is a student and alumni-run non-for-profit program offered by the AUArts Student Association. This is a low-risk 8-week program that guides you through the essentials of market preparation and professional development as an emerging artist.

Whether you are a first-time Show+Sale artist or a returning artist, enjoy mentorship in pricing your artwork, branding, copyright guidance, artwork quality standard guidance and small business management tips.

This Program is FREE! We take a 25% commission off the sales you make at the market and put it back into the program so we can provide free resources, support campus benefits like the student pantry and fund student scholarships.

That’s a wrap! 🎁 The 2025 Winter Art Market by the numbers:

✨ $36,535 in student commissions. ✨ 2,053 items found new homes. ✨ 1,946 attendees across the weekend. ✨ $289,668 paid to artists since 2020!

We are so proud of our 84 student artists—especially the 60% who made their debut as sellers this weekend! 👏
