He wouldn’t propose until he found the right sapphire.
These two backpack the Alberta Rockies together. The lakes out there are their place. So when he decided to propose on one of their trips, he wanted a stone that looked like the water they hike in to see.
He’d been planning a proposal for some time, but hadn’t found the right stone because those lakes aren’t just “blue.” His exact words: “My goal is to match or represent the rich blues/teals/greens of the alpine lakes in the Rockies like Lake McArthur.”
Then he saw this sapphire. This was the lake.
He packed the ring into the mountains, and a few days later I got this:
“She said yes! She absolutely loves the ring and said how perfect it is probably 100 times.”
This is why I love starting with the stone.
Is there a place you’d want to carry in a stone?
