Theo came to us with a designer’s eye and a very clear goal: get every detail just right for Nat.

One of the final touches was also the most personal, two subtle “L”s worked into the design for their cats, Lenny and Lucy.

Hearing that Nat was “over the moon in love with the ring” made this especially sweet for us too.

Keeping colour alive in jewellery design.

Colour has a way of changing the whole feeling of a piece.

A rich centre stone, a subtle hint of colour, an unexpected combination, it can shift the mood of a design without changing its shape at all.

We’ll always love the classics, but there’s something special about jewellery that isn’t afraid to be a little more colourful.

Most proposal planning involves choosing the ring. Alexander’s also involved figuring out how to get it all the way to Japan without Claire finding it. 😅

There were a few conversations with our designer Breanna about keeping it hidden, keeping it safe, and making sure the surprise stayed a surprise right through the trip.

For the ring itself, they wanted a statement look, so we went bigger with the centre stone boasting a 2.77 ct Lab Diamond.

All the sneaking around paid off, Alexander proposed in Japan, Claire loved the ring, and the email we got afterward said it best: “It’s perfect”

Magical Marquise 🍃

The client came in with a ready design, with details right down to how closely the side stones should sit around the centre stone.

We created this custom engagement ring from scratch using his reference as a starting point. His attention to detail is a true sign of love because he knew what he wanted. We loved getting into all the details right with him.

With the side stones tucked right in toward the marquise, so much of the design draws toward the centre stone. 💍

🎂1 year at our new showroom in the historic Ramsay Design Centre in Calgary.

At our Grand Opening last year, Marlow gave out our secret:

“This isn’t a jewellery company. This is a storytelling company.”

That has never changed. That was always our thing.

What has changed is how much room we have to showcase and serve those stories.

4,000 square feet of creative space.

Natural light. Greenery.

Goldsmith benches where more of the pieces are created in-house.

What this year has looked like:

The band sets the stage, the oval step-cut lab grown diamond is the showstopper. ✨

A 14K yellow gold twist brings movement around the finger, while the platinum keeps the focus crisp around the unique oval lab Diamond.

It’s a beautiful pairing, the band adds texture and interest without competing with the stone, and that unusual oval shape gets all the attention it deserves.

Blue, but never just one blue. 🌊🔹

That’s what we love about September’s birthstone - the sapphire. From soft, almost icy tones to deep, midnight blues, each stone brings a completely different feeling to a piece.

And once it’s set, that colour becomes part of the whole personality of the ring. That hard part is choosing just one.

The glow after the YES!🌻 Congrats, Mary-Claire and Kurtis!

A 2.81ct lab elongated hexagonal cut diamond, set in a custom 14K yellow gold band.

Engraved sunflowers with inset diamonds.

Mountain silhouettes of the Three Sisters and Rundle.

And tucked inside the band, “loml” engraved.

Here’s the part that still gives us chills.

Two weeks before Kurtis picked up the ring, Mary-Claire showed him a ring design she’d fallen in love with... and it looked almost exactly like the one he’d already had us create for her.

Congratulations, you two. Here’s to every summit still ahead. ⛰️
