This amazing family first caught my attention at I-Hos when Carli showed me a video of the family working together, even the little one helped sand one of the rattles and it warmed my heart.

In the pictures shows me with the smallest box and these cute gifted earrings.

I-Hos Gallery Bursary - Apply Today

At I-Hos Gallery, we are always exploring meaningful ways to support Indigenous artists. One of the main ways we do this is by purchasing artwork directly from artists whenever possible.

We also recognize the important role we can play in helping artists build their skills, confidence, and creative capacity.

The I-Hos Gallery Bursary was created to support Indigenous artists in their professional development and help them access opportunities, tools, and training that strengthen their artistic practice.

Bursary Details
Application deadlines: January 30, May 30, and September 30
Maximum award amount: up to $1,000
The number and value of awards vary each intake based on available funding and application suitability
Priority is given to K’ómoks members, though applications are welcome from Indigenous artists across the region
This bursary program is made possible through donor support

We want to hear:
How would this opportunity help grow your artistic practice?
What skills, knowledge, or tools have you been hoping to access?

Examples of eligible expenses include:
Classes and workshops
Travel costs related to training
Software and digital tools
Studio infrastructure or equipment

Examples of ineligible expenses include:
General art materials or supplies for your current practice
Home or studio rent

Today was a beautiful day.

Thank you everyone who stopped by to share stories and/or support my journey into art that allows me to stay home more with my son.

The next fair I plan to attend will be June 20th for the K'ómoks Indigenous People's day event at the exhibition grounds.

I have been under the weather mentally lately and that sure puts a strain on productivity. It's not that I am not productive, it's just a different type of energy exchange between the art and I.

Sometimes you are waiting for the storm to pass.

This design plays on the imagination.
This eagle, a symbol of strength, looks forward with wings spread out to represent the warmth of the sun, like petals of a daisy kaleidoscope or lion's mane.

Sometimes, when everything starts to blur together, I take a pause and start working on something completely different.
Something to work on in the moments when I need a moment.
One day this design will be done, the thought once just a scribbled idea on a piece of scrap paper.

I recently translated this beautiful design by Emmett into a workable Logo.
This is Emmett's and my first real collaboration where we will have some funds put into his savings for when he is older.

It's a good feeling, this logo is landing in the right place 🌞
