Turquoise! It’s not often I use stones in my work… but this set was matched to a stunning grad dress for a young lady. I’m pleased with the way it turned out, and I’m looking forward to perfecting some bezel setting in the future!

The “Mixer Horse” was created in 1968 when the AQHA commissioned artist Orren Mixer to paint the ideal American Quarter Horse—drawn not from one horse, but from many.
More than 50 years later, the image endures as a symbol of generations of Quarter Horse breeding and western heritage.

This scarf slide carries that same iconic image, struck from a die of the design.

These pieces are part of a larger project I have been working on for quite a few months. A ring-backed breast collar concho and folded buckles for the breast collar, as well as billet loops. All made from sterling silver with overlaid scroll work and raised flowers with 10kt gold brands. Previously I had completed and sent the saddle concho set to the amazingly talented saddle maker Pedro Pedrini in Nevada. I am fortunate to have clients with vision and patience! This saddle is going to be pretty fancy… but I’m sure the horse underneath it will be even fancier!!!
