So, where are you at on your own Fool’s Journey? 🃏✨

Discover this and more in The Fool’s Journey: A Tarot & Collage Workshop, a new workshop I’ve put together after having a few people ask if I’d ever consider teaching tarot.

While I definitely don’t consider myself an authority or expert on tarot, I have spent many years working with the cards, and feel I have some valuable knowledge and wisdom worth sharing about the cards, their symbolism, and the stories they tell.

To me, tarot is so much more than just learning a list of card meanings. There’s something about the symbolism and archetypes in the cards that speaks to something deeply human within each and every one of us. That’s why you can find connections between tarot and so many other systems of symbolism and thought.

The cards ultimately tell the story of the human condition and speak to experiences we all encounter in our life in one form or another. They cover the many chapters of our life from new beginnings to painful endings, to love, loss, and triumph, and of course everything in between.

And in this workshop we will have a chance to explore this story and journey through the Major Arcana, while bringing a little art and creativity into the mix! Hey, you can’t beat a workshop that combines learning and art, eh? ✂️🔮💜🌙

No tarot or collage experience needed. Just come with an open heart and mind.✨

The painting featured in this post is called, “Eyes That Speak In Shadows.”

This painting explores how the eyes can communicate unspoken emotions, even when no words are present.

I’m popping on for another Friday Tarot/Oracle reading. This time I wanted to focus on some of the heavy topics that have been happening recently and how these stories point to a common thread that connects them all - in this world we place more emphasis on protecting the reputations of abusers and institutions, than we do to protect those who are victims of the abuse/oppression.

Stories, like some of those which have been circulating in the news recently, can bring up a lot of thoughts and feelings, and may even make us feel powerless. So today, I wanted to focus on the question: How do we move through the collective heaviness without losing our sense of agency?

If you would like me to cover more topics like this, or possibly make some more in depth videos where I use the Tarot to explore and navigate through topics like this, let me know in the comments.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. And remember to take time to rest and care for yourself too. Rest and care are also essential parts of the resistance to tyranny, especially in a world that wants us to constantly be productive and ever consuming. 💚

Today, we take the time to remember and honour residential school survivors and those who never made it home, and to acknowledge the deep impact this has left on families and communities whose lives have been changed forever by the residential school system.

If we want to continue to create a meaningful path forward, that includes making room for difficult truths, listening to the stories that need to be heard, and remembering that the road to reconciliation is an ongoing journey.

May we continue to move forward together, actively working toward a future where atrocities like this never happen again. 🧡
