Beau Castor

Beau Castor Unique and high-performance products micro-manufactured from minimally processed and sustainable raw

At Beau Castor, our aim is to replace highly refined products made in large factories with unique higher performance products micro-manufactured from minimally processed raw materials. The quality products originating from our Montreal workshop are intended for many years of appreciation and use. We feel that it our responsibility is to offer long lifetime products that allow us to consume fewer m

aterials, burn less energy, and generate less waste. The natural form of the source materials adds an aesthetic aspect to our products and, even more importantly, it provides a connection with an environment beyond the influence of humans. We hope you will enjoy our products over a lifetime of usage. The sticks used in our products come from the work of beavers in the Laurentians, north of Montreal. Beavers are vegetarians and their diet consists largely of tree bark - especially in the fall. Beavers mainly work at night, going on land to take down a tree, separate the branches into short straight lengths, and then drag each branch down to the water. Eating is done while in the safety of the water, and once all the bark has been removed, the branch is left in the water. Using canoes or walking along the shore, we pick up the branches. We dry them, varnish them, and then modify them for the final product.
