It’s 1925.

You walk into a bank and exchange a paper bill for a brand-new Peace Dollar fresh from the mint.

You put it in your pocket and head home.

Now fast forward 100 years…

That same coin has survived wars, recessions, changing generations, and countless hands before ending up in a collector’s collection.

Then beside it sits a flawless 2023 Peace Dollar graded MS70 ✨

One coin has a century of history.

The other is absolutely perfect.

And honestly, I can’t decide which I appreciate more 👀

A century apart… but which would you choose? 👀🪙

There’s just something special about holding a coin that has survived more than 100 years of history.

But at the same time, a pristine modern Morgan with all the details perfectly preserved is hard to ignore 😳

I opened this roll expecting the usual… and then THIS happened 😳🍁

Toonie Roll Hunt Episode 41 gave us:

🌆 Our FIRST! 2026 CN Tower Toonie (un-colourized)
✌️ 2020 Victory (un-colourized)
❄️ 1999 Nunavut
✈️ 2024 RCAF (un-colourized)

And honestly… finding that 2026 CN Tower toonie in circulation still feels surreal 👀🔥

It wasn’t that long ago we were all waiting to see what the design would look like.

Now they’re showing up in roll hunts 😳

That’s one of the coolest things about this hobby…

One day a coin is brand new.
The next day it’s hiding in a roll waiting to be found.

Coin collecting question for everyone 👀🪙

What was the coin that got you hooked on collecting?

Not your most valuable coin.

Not necessarily your rarest coin.

Just the one that made you stop and think:

“Wow… this hobby is actually pretty cool.”

For me, it’s hard to pick just one. Over the years I’ve found so many interesting Canadian coins through roll hunting that it’s tough to narrow it down.

The history, the designs, the varieties, and the thrill of finding something unexpected are what keep me coming back.

That’s what I thought when I first started collecting 👀

Then I discovered that the Royal Canadian Mint produces the SAME design in completely different finishes:

🪙 Business Strike (circulation)
✨ Proof
🌫️ Matte Proof
🔄 Reverse Proof
⭐ Specimen

But what do those names actually mean?

And more importantly… can YOU tell the difference just by looking? 👀🔥

In this reel I show the Royal Canadian Mint’s Numis-Tastic Set, one of the coolest educational sets they’ve ever released, and compare all five finishes side by side.

Honestly, once you see them together, you’ll never look at coins the same way again 😳
