You are not defined by where you started. You are not defined by where you are right now. Empress Theodora proved that 1,500 years ago — and it is still true today.

Born in the slums of Constantinople — modern day Istanbul — she rose beyond every limitation placed on her and became one of the most powerful and influential women in history. Remembered not for where she started, but for the power, resilience, and clarity she carried into the position she stepped into as Empress.

This necklace was inspired by women like her.

Women who continue becoming despite limitations. Women who move forward despite uncertainty. Women who refuse to let circumstance decide their future.

There is a sacred, fundamental force at the heart of the feminine spirit: Creation.

My journey into jewelry making began 12 years ago when I found out I was pregnant. I started taking classes because I knew I was being called to create something new, and monumental, along with birthing my son. Something he would be proud of.

I wanted to birth a legacy I could leave behind for him. It was a dream of mine since I was young to be a mom that has a business and their child grows up around that business so they would learn that they can also depend on their own creativity to create abundance for themselves.

Our moments to birth our unique gifts into the world call on us more often than we see or pay attention to. But those gifts are your legacy, and you are here, in your perfectly unique splendor, to share those gifts with the world.

This process is my meditation and the affirmation I say to myself every time I sit at my jewelry bench.

In this painting by Klimt, Athena stands as the embodiment of unapologetic feminine force.

On her armor she carries the image of the Gorgon whose original protective strength was twisted into something to fear. Yet, here Athena reclaims her as the fierce protector, a guardian of boundaries, a mirror that reflects truth.

She represents the part of the feminine that refuses to be tamed or diminished.
