Last Sunday morning was gorgeous, with a solid turnout for the annual Ottawa 🎗️ Run for the Cure event🎗️

It was my first time attending, and I was thrilled to show support for my brother-in-law, Tim Scapillato / , who raised over $400 for this cause that I am now so intimately involved in.

The total raised by all who participated was over $600k!

A silver shamrock set with three lobes of deep green Connemara marble — Ireland's own stone, quarried in County Galway, found nowhere else on earth.

Most certainly made in England, but has found its way over to Canada. She's looking for a new home!

Some pieces can be more exciting than others when they come across our desk... this would be one of those instances.

These earrings were handmade showcasing two filigree styles incorporated side by side. Filigree is the technique used as goldsmiths made very fine twisted wire, flattened it and has crafted it into the most interesting swirls and curls. It creates an end result that is very lightweight, a delicate and striking look while also giving the appearance of substantial earrings.

These are also 12 karat gold, a fairly uncommon gold karat, so their origin remains a mystery.

A personal note from Marilyn:

Hello to all of our wonderful customers!

We are coming up to our 3rd anniversary of the creation of Marigold Vintage and Estate. We are so thankful for your support and interest in our unique vintage and estate pieces.

The only slight setback has been my diagnosis of triple-negative breast cancer this past July. It has been an eye-opening experience into the world of a disease that affects one in eight women.

As you might notice, I have done my hair in dreadlocks. A cool look indeed, but it has a purpose: When my hair begins to fall out, I can cut them out and reattach them back in when my hair regrows. Shout out to Paula from Silkie Locks in Ottawa for 6 hours of amazing work to preserve my hair. A nod to our passion for rescue and renewal.

We will keep you posted with progress, and wish you all a lovely Autumn season.
