Another year has come to an end. For some, it was a year filled with accomplishments; for others, it’s one filled with what didn’t happen. Moments of disappointment and frustration or lack of focus. It all depends on perspective. This past year wasn’t what I expected but it was still filled with lots of laughter and joy; precious memories with friends and family; professional moments of great satisfaction and joy. It was a year of learning, when lessons were imposed, not chosen. And after every lesson, I knew more and was grateful. There’s always a reason to be grateful. On Christmas Day, I tested positive for Covid and had to cancel our plans. My husband tested positive the next day. I was grateful that we weren’t entertaining 24 people and my wonderful brother and sister in law were able to give our 98 mom with dementia a small celebration on Christmas Day. I was grateful to have access to medicine to help me recover and a warm cozy bed in which to do so. I am grateful for the friends and family who asked how we were doing. Life doesn’t always turn out how we wanted but there’s always something to be grateful and thankful for. We are finishing one year and have a new one beginning tomorrow. May 2024 be filled with everything you want and also what you need. As the incomparable Amanda Gorman said “We are the good news we have been looking for! Make it happen in 2024! HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🥂🎵💰🕰️🏝️✈️🎂🌞🌲💕
