Where did the time go?
It feels like just a few weeks ago that I was getting ready to start the season. And here we are, already at the end of another one!
I have been at the ByWard Market since 2014, and I have loved every summer. This one is no exception.
Sure, this year brought changes and challenges that made me question everything. But at the end of the day, I still got to do what I love.
Welcoming returning customers who have become friends, sharing my creations and stories, and meeting people from all over the world.
So many interactions turn into genuine connections and conversations that go far beyond buying and selling.
Those are my favourite moments. ❤️
I also realized just how many people follow my journey on Facebook and Instagram. So many stopped by asking, “Have you retired from the federal government yet?” or saying, “Yeah! You finally retired!”
That genuine interest in my life is worth its weight in gold.
And none of this happens without a team!
What a team these ambassadors are! Showing up every day, working behind the scenes to make my experience as smooth as possible. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.
As another season ends, I am grateful for the friendships, conversations, and memories that stay with me long after the market closes.
On a personal note, October has been challenging, with health issues and a loss in the family that I am helping my mom navigate. A reminder that there is always more happening behind the scenes than what people see.
But one thing remains the same!
Everyone who visits my booth leaves with a business card and my favourite reminder:
“Don’t call me, I don’t answer! But text me, and I will gladly help you with your request!” 😉
