I know I'm not the only yarn dyer who madly dyes and dries yarn at the last minute for shows 😜 but this time my husband has thrown in a little DIY

Hopefully this idea means that this yarn will dry in the next hour or two and I can get it packaged and bring it along to Kat's Craft Corner in Oshawa tomorrow for my trunk show!!

11am to 6pm 🥰

TW: loss of a parent

I have been quiet and withdrawn lately. While I often share pieces of my life here, some things take time before I feel ready to talk about them.

My mother died in March. We weren't geographically close, but her loss has affected me more deeply than I expected.

One of the ways I've noticed that grief showing up is in my creativity. The inspiration that usually pulls me into the studio has been harder to find, and I've found myself retreating into books rather than creating.

If you've been waiting on an email from me, wondering why I've been quieter online, or noticing fewer updates from the dye studio, this is part of the reason.

I'm taking things one day at a time and trusting that creativity will return when it's ready. Until then, thank you for your patience, kindness, and support.

It was wet and raining and windy...but the morning was also full of smiles and laughter! So many people came out and braved the winds to check out the festival! Thank you 🥰🥰

Also, look at this awesome in progress shawl! Using one of my Fire gradients! So pretty!!

not only is your coordinating team kickass ❤️❤️ but your volunteers went above and beyond! I wouldn't have been able to get set up without your volunteers and, although I was there on my own this year, it didnt feel that way as I had people from your team popping in constantly to check on me. Thank you for doing your absolute best with such a frustrating weather day!

New batch of Alchemy on sock yarn, headed to the tomorrow!

If you haven't heard yet, the weather tomorrow is looking wet and rainy, and the forecast is suggesting wetter and windier after lunch, so its recommended that folks come early, as it's possible the festivalmay pack up early.

How did this get posted without a caption, I remember writing it out ...ah well, lets try this again! 😅🤣

Perimenopause yarn!
It's actually an alpaca linen silk fi*****ng weight blend, but I call it my perimenopause yarn because lately there are days that I can't even look at wool without getting overheated.

I will be bringing a few samples to on Saturday: two Willa Tees and the ever popular Floodlight tee from 🥰

The awesome thing about all of these samples is that they are all for a 46 to 48 inch bust and only required two skeins (plus a bit of suri silk lace for the Floodlight tees yoke)! Per fect for this time of year!

I have some new colorways on this yarn coming with me on Saturday including, Garnet, Blackberry, Pewter, Solar and Denim. Be sure to come early, this year has been super popular at shows!

I love drying gradients sets in the warm sun and we have had a couple of hot days this week!

All these gradient sets are 7x50g sock yarn (1290 yds) and will be available at the on Saturday!!

Catalyst was a colourway that appeared after Alchemy and felt like a new set of colours in the making! (I may be falling down a metallurgy, forge themed rabbit hole!)

Deep bright blues and a pop of deep orange!
Hmmm, two skeins exist at present....think I should make more? 😍🥰

Alchemy is one of my newest colourways!

It decided 2 days ago that it wanted to be made and head to Cobourg with me tomorrow, so I now have it dyed on basic sock, marled sock and suri silk...with more bases to come.

It definitely lives up to its name! Every batch, every base is a little bit different each time I dye it, but the rich shades of teal, burgundy and ochre come through regardless!
(The suri silk especially leaned into the ochre yellow...can't wait to try another batch and see what happens!)

Both and I think it is super pretty and someone may or may not have tried to sneak some skeins into her purse while we were labeling earlier today! 🤣😅🥰
