Our Story

I officially started Baydazzled Handcrafted Jewellery in the summer of 2015 while vacationing in Tilting, Fogo Island. My boyfriend Andrew is from there and we were out visiting with his parents. We were fortunate enough to have quite a long holiday, so I brought along my jewellery making supplies. One day, we went to the This and That Store in Fogo and spoke with the owner of the store about doing some consignment. She agreed, and I brought some of my earrings there to sell. It was very exciting. I still sell my jewellery there.

A lot of people ask me where I came up with the name "Baydazzled". It actually started off as a joke because I couldn't think of a good name. I'm from Central Newfoundland, but people in St. John's still consider me to be "from the bay". Anyone who knows Newfoundland geography can tell you that Grand Falls-Windsor is about a 30 minute drive from anything that remotely resembles the ocean, so the name was meant to be satirical. People also ask about the spelling of "Jewellery" vs. "Jewelry". I decided to use "jewellery" because that is the British English spelling, which is what we use here in Canada. I also think it's more romantic and old-timey feeling, which I love.

I would like potential customers to know that I love doing custom work, and I do my best to work within their budget. I pride myself in making affordable jewellery, particularly bridal jewellery.
