👀 Who here knows the Buckhill Road urban legend in Round Lake, Ontario?
The story has been passed around locally for generations. Legend says a woodsman and his young daughter once lived near the hill. One night, the daughter became lost or was involved in a tragic accident near the woods, and her father searched for her carrying a lantern through the trees.
People say his spirit still searches the area to this day. 👻🏮
The local legend says if you drive to the top of Buckhill Road at night, flash your headlights 3 times, get out of the car, and call out:
“Daddy… Daddy… Daddy… help me…”
…you may see a lantern moving through the woods.
People have also shared stories for years about strange things happening there, unexplained noises, cars acting oddly, sudden feelings of panic, electronics acting up, and other unusual experiences near the top of the hill. Whether you believe in this kind of stuff or not, Buckhill definitely has a reputation, and we experienced it first hand. 👀
Last night we watched a documentary about it, and today my husband surprised me by taking me there. (In daylight because nighttime was absolutely not happening for him. 😂)
We stopped at the burnt road sign and I immediately said, “Take me up the hill.”
Everything was completely normal at first… until we got closer to the top. Suddenly our back brake started making this horrible grinding sound, LOUD.
The weird part?
🚗 The brakes weren’t even being pressed.
The closer we got to the top, the louder it became. It got so intense I literally had my hands over my ears. I love spooky stuff, but even my heart started racing a little. 😅
We quickly found a spot to turn around, and the SECOND we headed back down the hill… the grinding stopped completely.
No brake issues before.
No warning lights.
No sounds on the drive home.
Nothing since.
If my husband hadn’t been with me, nobody would’ve believed me. 😂
Coincidence…or Buckhill Road? 👻
Now I have to ask…Have YOU ever been there?
And did you experience anything unusual? 👀
