Sharecrows is an initiative hosted by the Chambettes, Chantry Island Chambettes Sharecrows, & it’s all about showing up for our community.

I get asked for gold chains often & here’s the reality of gold chains in the estate jewelry world.

A lot of the chains we get in have either been heavily worn or they are really thin. In both cases, you are going to come back and give me s**t when your chain breaks. Not fun for either of us. Light chains mean less gold, which makes them more affordable in the short term but the quality just isn’t there. Heavy chains are what everyone thinks they want until we put them on the scale & tell them the price.

Then there’s the sweet spot. Heavy enough that they look substantial, strong enough that they aren’t going to break & affordable enough that you aren’t going to lose your mind at the price. That the sweet spot & what I look for.

Buying estate jewelry will ALWAYS save you money. You are getting the gold value, craftsmanship & the age without paying for something brand new. Here are a couple chains we’ve gotten in recently that hit that sweet spot perfectly & make ideal daily wearers
