It is obvious that a great deal has changed over the centuries, yet surprisingly, there are still many similarities between a 17th-century goldsmith’s workshop and one from the 21st century. And what definitely hasn’t changed is the clutter that reigns on the goldsmith’s workbench. 😊

To be honest, it’s just a suggestion of what such a workshop might have looked like back then.
When I was just starting out in this craft in the 1970s, I worked at a nearly identical workbench.
