Beautiful earrings shouldn't feel like a workout for your ears.

I used to think heavy earrings were simply the price of a statement pair. Then I learned what that weight does over the years — earlobes don't spring back.

So every pair I make is very light. Light enough to forget about by mid-afternoon.

Do you notice the weight by the end of the day?

Some jewelry doesn’t need an occasion.

I didn’t start Plein De Vie Jewelry with a business plan.

I didn’t have a collection mapped out, a studio full of tools, or some grand vision of becoming a silversmith.

I started with a two-day silversmithing class in Vancouver.
That was it.

I learned how to use a jeweller’s saw. I made mistakes. I discovered just how much I didn’t know.

And I loved it.
So I kept going.

One skill became another.
One piece led to another.
Mistakes became lessons.
Practice slowly became progress.

And somewhere along the way, something I was simply curious about became Plein De Vie Jewelry.

Looking back, I’m glad I didn’t wait until I knew exactly where it was going.
Because I couldn't have known.

I think we sometimes put so much pressure on ourselves to have the whole plan figured out before we're willing to begin.
But maybe we don't need the whole plan.

Maybe we just need the next small step.
Take the class.
Try the thing.
Be willing to be a beginner.
See where it takes you.

You never know what one small beginning might become.
You don’t have to see the whole path to begin.

A little question for you…

One of my favourite parts of making jewelry is imagining where a piece might go once it leaves my studio. Maybe it becomes your everyday necklace, the earrings you reach for with your favourite sweater, or a piece that holds a special meaning just for you.

But I’m curious… what would you love to see me make next?

More nature-inspired designs? Different gemstones or colours? Simple silver pieces you can wear every day? Or perhaps something entirely different?

I have my own ideas (my sketchbook is never quite empty!), but I’d love to hear yours, too.

When I created the Bloom Gently Affirmation Cards, I wanted them to become more than something lovely to sit on a table.

I wanted them to become a tiny pause in your day.

A moment to choose a card, read the words and perhaps hear exactly what you needed to hear that morning.

Sometimes, the smallest things really do bring the most joy.

For me, one of those things is daisies.
They grow in my yard every summer, and there’s just something about them — simple, cheerful and a little bit unruly — that makes me smile every time I see them.

And somewhere along the way, I started wondering…
Could I capture a little of that feeling in silver?
That was the beginning of the Daisy Delight Necklace.

Each little flower is cut from sterling silver and given texture by hand, so no two are exactly alike. I arranged them together almost like a little gathering of daisies rather than trying to make everything perfectly uniform.

And then came the green.
I added three tiny tsavorite garnets because I wanted just a touch of colour among all that silver — a little sparkle reminiscent of the fresh green that surrounds the daisies in my yard.

But what I love most about this necklace isn't really the daisies or even the gemstones.
It's what they remind me of.

That joy doesn't always arrive with the big milestones we spend so much time waiting for.

Sometimes it's the flowers blooming outside your window.
The first cup of coffee in the morning.
A walk by the lake.
A phone call with someone you love.
Or putting on a piece of jewelry simply because it makes you feel beautiful.
Those little moments count, too.

Maybe even more than we realize.
The Daisy Delight Necklace is my little reminder to notice them. 🤍
